ETC Team Ireland

I am pleased to announce that the Irish 40k ETC team for 2011 will consist of:

Richard Flood (Captain).
Paul Quigley (Vice Captain).
Darragh Cullen.
Joseph Cullen.
Barra Mac Niocaill.
Mervyn Murphy.
Padraic O'Confhaola.
Michael Tangney.

I reckon its a very solid team with everyone there finishing inside the top 11 over the course of the tourney season here in Ireland. I'm not fond of how tourneys are scored here but when people do consistently well at events (I think everyone here had at least 1 top 5 finish at a 2-day event over the year) you know you're onto something good.

The funny thing is that 3 of the lads in the top 10 (top 6 even) are playing for the Nordies: Jan, John Stowe and Jonny Fisher, so when they're taken out everyone on the team finishes in the top 10. Personally, that's very reassuring.

Team Ireland - we'll do better than we did last year.
